Detailed tutorial on how to make a pressure ball

Oct 13, 2021

The pressure ball is an interesting and malleable toy with a diameter of about 7 cm. It is a good portable tool for reducing pressure. Pinch the toy in your hand, move your fingers to reduce muscle tension and pressure, and exercise your hands. In addition to toys, pressure balls can also relax people and lower blood pressure.

If you feel a lot of pressure, or see other people happily playing their stress ball, you can make your own DIY. Making your own pressure ball can be a fun way to release pressure and create soft and interesting objects. Before starting a busy day, throw a stress ball into your bag or put one at your desk to reduce stress. You can even customize your pressure ball by choosing your favorite color and adding stickers or colorful patterns.

Collect the supplies to be used:

A small round balloon

Funnel

1 cup cornstarch

Scissors

Marker pen (optional)

Step:

1. Blow the balloon until it is about 4 to 5 inches. Don't tie it up, but inflate the balloon as much as possible. Pinch the top of the balloon about an inch or two from the opening to make room for the funnel to be inserted into the neck of the balloon. If you don’t have an assistant to help, use a clip to hold the balloon.

2. Put the funnel into the opening of the balloon while still pinching the balloon. You may need to fix the funnel inside the balloon. Don't worry about whether the balloon will deflate (it happens easily in this step). Use one hand (or ask your assistant for help) to fill the top of the funnel with cornstarch. It is best to add a small amount of cornstarch at a time.

Be careful to start using cornstarch instead of air. Slowly release the position where you pinch the balloon so that the cornstarch can slide into it. If it is too fast, the air leaving the balloon will blow cornstarch into the air and make a mess.

3. Tightly pull up the opening of the balloon and squeeze out excess air. Tie the balloon tightly as close as possible to the cornstarch.

4. Use scissors to cut off the excess balloon and make sure not to cut too close to the knot on the balloon.

5. Decorate the pressure ball with stickers or markers as needed. Choose the color you like and add interesting patterns to show your artistic skills. Now you can use your own DIY stress ball to relieve stress anytime, anywhere!
